Elemis Spa Brings a Pampering Touch to the King’s Cup Elephant Polo Tournament 2011

From 5 – 11 September 2011, elite elephant polo teams from around the world descended upon the royal seaside town of Hua Hin in Thailand to compete in the King’s Cup Elephant Polo Tournament, held at Hua Hin's Suriyothai army base.  Battling it out for the championship of this uniquely entertaining sport and showcasing skillful play, plenty of memorable moments were enjoyed both on and off the pitch, enhanced by VIP Elemis experiences.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the tournament has developed from a small two day event comprising six teams in 2001 to become a week long extravaganza featuring twelve teams from four continents. This year, over fifty players included the New Zealand All Blacks’ Robin Brooke and Charles Riechelmann, as well as Prince Carl-Eugen, Princess Anna and Princess Yoanna Oettingen-Wallerstein of Germany.
The tournament’s charity gala dinner at Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa raised a generous 3.1 million baht, which will be used to benefit the lives of domesticated and wild elephants in Thailand.

The tournament also treated spectators to a touch of pampering indulgence, courtesy of a VIP tent where Elemis Spa offered relaxing mini massages and a special gift set consisting of Elemis water, blotting paper and a cool refreshing towel, as well as Elemis sample products and a THB 1,000 voucher.  These special gift certificates can be redeemed at the newly opened Elemis Spa in Bangkok before 29 February 2012 on any treatment journey value at THB 4,000 or more.
