Blossom like the lotus at Koh Samui’s new Anantara Spa

01/03/2010

Drawing inspiration from the sacred flower of the gods, Anantara's second Koh Samui Spa at Anantara Lawana cultivates supreme wellbeing through meaningful signature sequences that harness Thailand's ancient wisdom and beyond.   The Spa's hideaway tropical setting bestows a resful ambience, while world class facilities are combined with results driven techniques, generating experiences that are as unique as each guest's quest for personalised wellbeing.

Rooted in the beautiful country of Thailand, the essence of Anantara philosophy, 'without end', stems from ancient Sanskrit origins, with this enduring belief of borderless harmony expressed in heartfelt synchronisation at Lawana's Anantara Spa.

Look to one of the most allusive symbols on earth, the lotus flower, which grows in muddy water to blossom above the surface in remarkable poise and beauty.  Epitomising long life, health, honour and luck, the lotus flower reflects spiritual enlightenment in a world where time and technology march on regardless, often clouding the balance of subtle energies needed for total wellbeing.   Illuminating a restorative pathway of clarity and calm, Lawana's Anantara Spa invites guests to forgo the stresses of everyday life and begin to orchestrate body, mind and spirit into a natural flow through journeys that replenish pure and wholesome peace.

Nestled in a picturesque corner of Anantara Lawana, hugging the curving north end of Chaweng Beach, Anantara Spa whisks guests away to a world of seclusion and sensory pleasures.  Surrender every care to inner and outer radiance in a haven where a shroud of tranquility cannot help but be absorbed.  Take solace in one of nine luxuriously appointed en-suite treatment rooms, including double suites designed especially for couples and friends who desire a harmonious side by side experience.

Relinquish time and pressure with extended signature journeys that respond specifically to each individual's wellness ideals.  Like the beautifuly fragrant Bua Luang lotus which exemplifies a heartening outlook on all of life's paths to represent purity, personal growth, survival and triumph against all odds, Anantara Spa's signature sequences combine this mystical myriad of attributes with the age-old essences of island life.

Lapse into an Anantara Lawana Coconut Paradise odyssey and capture the healing qualities of Koh Samui's most exotic harvest.  Once honoured as the island's principal livelihood, the humble coconut has risen to illustrious acclaim for its revered hydrating and enriching benefits, with these rejuvenating qualities used in aromatic elixirs, unfolding in a luscious ritual of exfoliating scrub, cocooning wrap and relaxing massage.

Create a balanced lifestyle with a Three-Day Anantara Recovery package to boost physical, emotional and spiritual union.  Spend the first day unwinding with a welcoming in-room bath ritual, complete with a collection of Anantara Milky Bath products to choose from.  Awaken on day two to a floral foot ritual and a choice of traditional Thai massage or Thai herbal compress massage, before rejuvenating on day three with an Anantara signature facial.

Flourish from a deeply penetrating glow with Anantara's body therapy collection which takes reverence from the graceful Bua Sattaban flower, symbolising adaptive positivity in Indian culture.  Emerge renewed from scrubs and wraps infused with complexion enhancing turmeric, revitalising coconut and detoxifying green tea.  Then explore ever-renewing youth and femininity with the Anantara facial series.  Following a detailed skin analysis by a highly trained team of experts, assume the sublime elegance, prosperity and fertility of the Bua Bun Trik flower through defining, delicate treatments that are ideally matched to each skin type, age and lifestyle.

Mood changing steam and bathing therapies generate instinctive responses, like the giant water lily, Bua Kra Dong, whose leaves grow up to nine feet in diameter, accompanied by a remarkable flowering trend of blooming white on the first night and appearing a spectacular pink on the second.  Stimulate the circulatory system, enliven the senses with exotic aromas, detox and become completely centred with a choice of nature's most prized ingredients, as Anantara Spa tailors a range of health and beauty treatments that respond to bespoke needs and yearnings, no matter how long or short a guest's stay.

At Anantara Spa, the greatest journeys are felt, not told.

Editors Note:

For hundreds of years throughout Thailand, people would leave a jar of water outside their house to provide refreshment and extend a welcome to the passing traveller. Anantara is taken from an ancient Sanskrit word that means 'without end', symbolising this sharing of water and the heartfelt hospitality that lies at the core of every Anantara experience.

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas initially opened in the seaside town of Hua Hin and on Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand, and in the Golden Triangle in the country's north. In the world-renowned destination of the Maldives, Anantara Dhigu and Anantara Veli are a 30-minute boat ride from the capital Male.

Anantara Seminyak debuted in April 2008 in the most fashionable district of Bali - the Island of the Gods. Late 2008 saw the opening of Anantara Phuket, situated in the serenity of Mai Khao Beach, Thailand, followed by Desert Islands on Sir Bani Yas Island off the coast of Abu Dhabi, and Anantara Si Kao which lies on the secluded Changlang Beach area south of Krabi, Thailand.

Anantara Baan Rajprasong in Bangkok opened its doors in April 2009 to become the first serviced suites property for the Anantara group, while Qasr Al Sarab opened in October 2009 in the legendary Liwa desert near Abu Dhabi.  In November 2009 with the unveiling of Anantara's second Koh Samui hideaway, the Chinese-inspired Anantara Lawana nestling the island's famously long Chaweng Beach, Anantara Koh Samui became known as Anantara Bophut.

2010 will see a trio of new properties welcoming guests across Asia and the Middle East to further enhance Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas' enviable worldwide portfolio.  Anantara Kihavah Villas Maldives is poised for its grand opening in July 2010, to be joined by Anantara Al Madina A'Zarqa in Oman and Anantara Sanya in China towards the end of the year.
